Mission Statement
The People’s United Party exists to restore power to the people. We believe in a future defined by justice, dignity, equity, and sustainability. We are committed to a democratic system free from corruption, moneyed influence, and systemic oppression. Our platform is rooted in the belief that government must serve the common good—not corporate interests, not the wealthy elite, and not foreign militarism. We offer a bold vision that reclaims democracy, empowers communities, and ensures the survival and thriving of both people and planet.
Core Values
• Democracy and Transparency
• Justice and Equity for All
• Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship
• Peace, Diplomacy, and Global Solidarity
• Human Rights and Individual Freedoms
• Public Good Over Private Profit
I. Democracy and Governance
1. Reversal of Citizens United
The People’s United Party stands firmly for the repeal of Citizens United v. FEC, a disastrous Supreme Court decision that allowed unlimited corporate and special interest spending in our elections under the false premise that money is speech. Democracy must not be auctioned to the highest bidder.
Implementation Strategy:
• Champion a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.
• Pass federal legislation to reassert Congress’ power to regulate political spending.
• Support judicial appointments committed to restoring democratic integrity.
2. De-personification of Corporate Entities
Corporations are not people. Legal personhood for corporations has enabled them to exert disproportionate power over our economy, environment, and political system. We will strip corporations of personhood rights in the Constitution.
Implementation Strategy:
• Introduce legislation clarifying that constitutional rights apply only to natural persons.
• Reform corporate charters to include mandatory public benefit clauses.
• Empower states to revoke charters from corporations that violate human rights, labor laws, or environmental protections.
3. Elimination of Lobbies, Special Interests, and PAC Contributions
We propose the complete abolition of all lobbying groups, special interest influence, and Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions in U.S. politics. These mechanisms concentrate power in the hands of the wealthy few and drown out the voice of the people.
Implementation Strategy:
• Pass sweeping campaign finance reform banning corporate, PAC, and dark money donations.
• Implement publicly funded elections and universal voter vouchers.
• Establish independent oversight commissions to enforce ethics and transparency.
4. Constitutional Convention for Democratic Renewal
We call for a peaceful, citizen-led constitutional convention to reimagine American democracy in the 21st century—guided by principles of equity, transparency, sustainability, and civil liberties.
Implementation Strategy:
• Mobilize support for a national constitutional convention under Article V.
• Create inclusive forums where communities can contribute to foundational reforms.
• Enshrine protections for voting rights, ecological justice, reproductive autonomy, and public health.
5. Voter Rights and Access
A thriving democracy demands universal, secure, and accessible voting. We believe in making it easy—not harder—for every citizen to vote.
Implementation Strategy:
• Enact automatic and same-day voter registration.
• Expand vote-by-mail and early voting nationwide.
• Make Election Day a national holiday.
• Abolish voter ID laws and other voter suppression tactics.
• Restore the Voting Rights Act with full protections.
6. Term Limits and Political Accountability
To prevent political entrenchment and restore representative democracy, we propose term limits for all members of Congress and a lifetime ban on lobbying for former elected officials.
Implementation Strategy:
• Amend the Constitution to limit House members to 4 terms and Senators to 2 terms.
• Impose a lifetime prohibition on post-office lobbying, corporate consulting, or investment in companies regulated by Congress.
• Mandate real-time public disclosure of income, assets, and meetings with lobbyists.
II. Justice and Civil Rights
1. Racial Justice
Racial injustice is one of the most pressing issues of our time. The People’s United Party is committed to dismantling systems of racial oppression and ensuring that every person—regardless of race—can live with dignity and equality.
Implementation Strategy:
• End mass incarceration by reforming sentencing laws and eliminating private prisons.
• Address the racial wealth gap with targeted investments in education, healthcare, and affordable housing for communities of color.
• Support the passing of reparations legislation to acknowledge and address the enduring effects of slavery and systemic racism.
• Abolish racially discriminatory policies in policing, housing, and employment through broad reforms and targeted legislation.
2. LGBTQIA+ Rights
The People’s United Party believes in the full equality and dignity of all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We will fight to protect and expand LGBTQIA+ rights, ensuring that every individual has the right to love and live authentically.
Implementation Strategy:
• Pass the Equality Act to ensure comprehensive protection against discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
• Ensure gender-affirming healthcare is covered under all insurance plans.
• End the military’s ban on transgender service members and expand access to gender-neutral facilities.
• Promote LGBTQIA+ representation in public office, media, and education.
3. Disability Rights
We are committed to creating a society that is fully accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities. The People’s United Party envisions a future where every individual has the opportunity to live independently, fully participate in society, and access essential services.
Implementation Strategy:
• Strengthen the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure accessibility in all public spaces and institutions.
• Improve access to affordable healthcare, including services for mental health and developmental disabilities.
• Expand programs that support employment, housing, and independent living for people with disabilities.
• End discrimination in education and work, ensuring that every person, regardless of disability, has equal opportunities.
4. Reproductive Rights and Women’s Rights
We stand for the full protection of reproductive rights, including access to abortion, contraception, and comprehensive sexual education. The People’s United Party will ensure that all women—and those with reproductive capacity—have control over their bodies and their futures.
Implementation Strategy:
• Codify Roe v. Wade into federal law, ensuring the right to safe and legal abortion is protected nationwide.
• Expand access to contraception and reproductive healthcare for all.
• Enforce policies that close the gender wage gap and combat workplace discrimination.
• Establish comprehensive paid family and medical leave, ensuring that working families are supported.
III. Economic Fairness and Labor
1. Raising the Minimum Wage to a Living Wage
The People’s United Party is committed to raising the federal minimum wage to a living wage. Every working person deserves to earn enough to meet their basic needs and live with dignity.
Implementation Strategy:
• Raise the federal minimum wage to $20 per hour, indexed to inflation thereafter.
• Ensure regional flexibility in wage levels, allowing adjustments based on local cost-of-living variations.
• Mandate that tipped workers receive the same minimum wage as other workers, with clear protections against wage theft.
2. Workers’ Rights and Protections
Labor rights are human rights. The People’s United Party believes that workers must have the freedom to organize, negotiate, and secure fair treatment on the job. We are committed to strengthening protections for workers and ensuring fair compensation.
Implementation Strategy:
• Pass the PRO Act to strengthen labor unions, make it easier for workers to join, and provide protection against employer retaliation.
• Guarantee paid sick leave and vacation days for all workers, regardless of employer size or industry.
• Raise standards for workplace safety and ensure that all workplaces are free of discrimination, harassment, and unsafe working conditions.
• Enforce wage theft laws more effectively to ensure that workers receive the compensation they are owed.
3. Tax Equity and Progressive Taxation
We believe that our tax system should be fair and progressive, ensuring that the wealthiest among us pay their fair share to support the common good. The People’s United Party will work to eliminate tax loopholes that favor the rich and close the gap between working-class and wealthy Americans.
Implementation Strategy:
• Implement a wealth tax on individuals with assets exceeding $50 million, with higher rates for billionaires.
• Raise corporate taxes and eliminate loopholes that allow large corporations to avoid paying their fair share.
• Enforce stronger regulations on offshore tax havens, ensuring that corporations and the ultra-wealthy contribute fairly to the public treasury.
• Expand and strengthen social safety nets, funded by a progressive tax system that ensures all contribute according to their ability.
4. Universal Basic Income (UBI)
We believe in the power of direct economic support to reduce inequality and promote financial stability for all. A Universal Basic Income (UBI) provides a foundation upon which individuals can build their lives, fostering entrepreneurship, health, and well-being.
Implementation Strategy:
• Implement a phased UBI program starting with $1,000 per month for every adult citizen, gradually expanding as the economy grows.
• Fund the UBI program through progressive taxation, particularly targeting wealth and income inequality.
• Establish UBI as a permanent right, ensuring that every American receives financial support regardless of employment status.
5. Affordable Housing
Every American deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. The People’s United Party will tackle the housing crisis by increasing the availability of affordable housing, reducing inequality in access to homeownership, and ensuring that every individual has the security of a stable living environment.
Implementation Strategy:
• Invest in the construction and renovation of affordable housing nationwide, particularly in areas most affected by housing shortages.
• Establish a new federal housing program that provides subsidies for rent and homeownership for low- and middle-income families.
• Provide targeted support to combat homelessness, offering permanent supportive housing and mental health services to those who need it.
• Implement stronger rent control policies and curb speculative real estate practices that price working families out of the market.
6. Economic Re-distribution of Military Spending
The United States spends an enormous portion of its budget on military activities. While national defense is important, the People’s United Party believes that we must re-prioritize spending to invest in human welfare, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
Implementation Strategy:
• Reduce military spending by 50% over the next 10 years, redirecting the funds towards education, healthcare, and green infrastructure.
• Limit the growth of military budgets and focus on diplomacy, peacebuilding, and non-aggressive military defense.
• Invest in jobs programs for military veterans transitioning to civilian life, and ensure adequate care and support for veterans’ health and well-being.
IV. Healthcare and Public Wellbeing
1. Universal Healthcare
Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. The People’s United Party is committed to establishing a comprehensive, universal healthcare system that guarantees quality care for all, regardless of income, employment, or pre-existing conditions.
Implementation Strategy:
• Introduce a single-payer, Medicare-for-All system that provides universal healthcare to every person in the country.
• Expand public health insurance to cover every citizen and eliminate private insurance premiums, co-pays, and deductibles.
• Establish comprehensive preventative care, mental health services, and long-term care as core components of the healthcare system.
• Transition healthcare workers to a more equitable pay structure, focusing on reducing healthcare inequality in underserved communities.

• Break up monopolies in the pharmaceutical industry that artificially inflate prices.
• Support the development and distribution of generic drugs to increase access and affordability.

Implementation Strategy:
• Expand funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
• Build infrastructure for quick response teams, including public health emergency preparedness, medical supplies, and vaccinations.
• Implement a national health education campaign focused on preventative care, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Prioritize funding for global health initiatives, recognizing the importance of addressing health disparities worldwide.

Implementation Strategy:
• Increase investments in healthcare access for communities that are historically underserved.
• Provide targeted health programs for communities disproportionately impacted by chronic diseases and health disparities.
• Improve maternal and child health care, particularly for women of color, who face disproportionately high rates of infant mortality and pregnancy-related complications.
• Strengthen anti-discrimination policies in healthcare settings to ensure fair treatment for all individuals.

The People’s United Party will work to reassert the notion that corporations are entities serving the public good, not individuals with constitutional rights.
Implementation Strategy:

• Invest in programs that directly address racial inequalities in education, employment, and housing.
• Promote the inclusion of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in decision-making processes, ensuring their voices are heard in policy formation.
• Address disparities in the criminal justice system, focusing on reducing mass incarceration and the disproportionate impact on people of color.

Reproductive rights are human rights, and the People’s United Party stands firm in supporting the autonomy of all individuals over their bodies. We are committed to protecting reproductive health access, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for women, and advancing gender equality.

X. Government Allies & Agencies
The People’s United Party recognizes that the machinery of government must serve the people—not corporations, special interests, or outdated systems. We propose a fundamental rethinking of the role, purpose, and priorities of federal departments and agencies to better align them with our vision of a just, equitable, and compassionate society. These institutions must not be static relics of a bygone era but living instruments of the public good—responsive, transparent, and forward-thinking.

XI. A New Commitment to Technology
Technology, when governed with integrity and purpose, has the potential to be one of humanity’s greatest tools for progress. The People’s United Party recognizes that artificial intelligence, robotics, data systems, and digital infrastructure must be developed and deployed in ways that uphold human dignity, protect privacy, and serve the common good. We must ensure that technological advancement does not deepen inequality but rather lifts all people and empowers communities.
1. The Role of Artificial Intelligence in a Just and Equitable Society
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming every sector—from healthcare and education to labor and national security. It must be governed by democratic principles, not corporate profit motives or authoritarian surveillance.
Implementation Strategy:
• Establish a Federal AI Ethics and Oversight Commission to guide development with a focus on bias mitigation, transparency, and justice.
• Incentivize open-source, publicly accountable AI systems for public benefit—especially in healthcare, climate modeling, and education.
• Prohibit the use of AI in discriminatory surveillance, predictive policing, and voter manipulation.
• Invest in AI literacy programs to ensure all Americans can participate in and understand the implications of AI technologies.
2. Robotics and the Future of American Manufacturing
The robotics revolution presents a critical opportunity to restore and reimagine American manufacturing. Rather than displacing workers, we envision a future where robotics enhances productivity, shortens supply chains, and brings good-paying, clean jobs back to our communities.
Implementation Strategy:
• Launch a National Robotics for People Initiative focused on deploying robotics in ways that support rather than replace human labor.
• Fund new vocational training and education programs in robotics, design, and programming—especially in historically deindustrialized communities.
• Require profit-sharing and union protections for workers in highly automated industries.
• Ensure environmental sustainability and resource efficiency are central to robotic manufacturing standards.
3. Data Collection and the Right to Privacy
In the digital age, the right to privacy is essential to freedom, democracy, and autonomy. We believe every person has the right to control their personal data and to live free from undue surveillance and manipulation.
Implementation Strategy:
• Enact a Digital Bill of Rights, guaranteeing control over personal data, informed consent, and the right to be forgotten.
• Ban the sale of personal data by companies without explicit, revocable consent.
• Require algorithmic transparency and fairness audits for all major digital platforms.
• Establish a National Data Protection Agency to oversee digital privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical data use across sectors.
XII. Forward, Into the Stars
Humanity has always looked to the heavens with wonder and ambition. The People’s United Party believes that space exploration is not merely a scientific pursuit—it is a moral and collective one. We envision a future in which the vast resources and knowledge gained from our exploration of space are harnessed not for conquest or profit, but for the betterment of all life on Earth. The space program must serve peace, global cooperation, and environmental stewardship.
1. Re-defining the Role of NASA
NASA, and America’s broader space program, must become a public institution committed to advancing human knowledge, environmental resilience, and the shared destiny of all peoples. Rather than focusing solely on privatization or military dominance in space, we propose that space exploration be governed by principles of equity, sustainability, and international collaboration.
Implementation Strategy:
• Re-charter NASA with a renewed public mandate: to serve Earth first by solving terrestrial challenges through space-derived innovation.
• Launch a Space for Earth initiative focused on using satellite technology to monitor climate change, protect ecosystems, and forecast disasters.
• Expand cooperative missions with international space agencies under a multilateral framework guided by the principles of peace and science.
• Implement ethical frameworks for extraterrestrial resource exploration that prioritize planetary protection, ecological responsibility, and peaceful use.
2. Democratizing the Cosmos
We must ensure that access to space, its opportunities, and its potential benefits are not monopolized by billionaires or militaries, but made available to humanity as a whole.
Implementation Strategy:
• Establish a People’s Space Council—a diverse, civilian-led body to oversee U.S. space policy, ensure transparency, and represent public interests.
• Invest in education and public outreach to engage underrepresented communities in space science, engineering, and exploration.
• Create new opportunities for public-private partnership models where public interest, not private profit, leads the mission.
XIII. Truth, Justice & Integrity
Justice must be rooted in civil rights, accountability, and public service. The People’s United Party envisions a justice system that truly serves the people, holding both individuals and institutions accountable to the highest standards of integrity. This means rethinking not only the structure of key government agencies but also their role in preserving the foundational values of truth, justice, and transparency.
1. Re-imagining the Role of the Department(s) of Justice, Homeland Security, ICE, FBI, and CIA
The Department of Justice (DOJ) should shift its focus to prioritize anti-corruption, the protection of civil liberties, and the reform of the criminal justice system. Rather than being used as a tool of political power, the DOJ should serve as an independent protector of justice and fairness for all people.
2. Homeland Security (DHS) must be redefined and demilitarized, moving away from a security-driven agenda to one that prioritizes climate resilience, human rights, and public health. We envision a DHS that focuses on preparedness, disaster response, and national security that does not infringe on personal freedoms or engage in overreach.
3. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be reformed, with its powers abolished in favor of more compassionate, community-based immigration systems. Deportations should be replaced with pathways to citizenship, ensuring the protection of human dignity and rights.
The Re-Imagined Role of the FBI and CIA
4. Both the FBI and the CIA play critical roles in maintaining national security; however, these agencies must operate with increased oversight, transparency, and accountability. They should be tasked with protecting national security without violating civil liberties or engaging in political interference. Surveillance must be subject to strict judicial review, and intelligence gathering should be aligned with international human rights standards.
5. The National Security Agency (NSA): A New Vision for World Security
The National Security Agency (NSA) has played a pivotal role in national defense and intelligence operations for decades. However, the NSA’s powers, particularly around surveillance, have often been controversial, raising concerns about privacy, civil rights, and accountability.
The People’s United Party envisions the NSA as a key component in a redefined approach to national and global security—one that emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and respect for individual freedoms. The NSA should be an agency that, while continuing to protect against foreign threats, also champions human rights and freedom of speech worldwide. Its surveillance practices must be restructured to ensure they do not infringe upon the privacy of innocent civilians and that they operate within a transparent framework that upholds democratic values.
Implementation Strategy:
• Enforce strict, independent oversight of NSA surveillance programs, including audits and public reporting on their scope and impact.
• Redefine the NSA’s mission to focus on cyber-defense, counterterrorism, and intelligence-sharing with global allies for cooperative security efforts.
• Reform NSA data collection practices to guarantee privacy protections, ensuring that any surveillance is conducted in compliance with both domestic and international human rights law.
• Foster global partnerships in cybersecurity, prioritizing collective security efforts that benefit humanity while maintaining respect for national sovereignty and individual privacy.
By re-imagining the NSA’s role, we can ensure it serves as a force for peace, human rights, and security, not as a tool of oppression or unwarranted surveillance. Its work should align with our broader commitment to a just, equitable, and secure world, protecting both Americans and global citizens alike.
XIV. Our Commitment to Accountability
1. Trust Begins With Responsible Government.
At the heart of a functioning democracy is trust—trust that elected officials serve the people, not special interests; that laws are applied equally; and that institutions are transparent, ethical, and just. The People’s United Party pledges itself to full public accountability and a political process entirely funded, powered, and protected by the people it represents. We reject corruption, secrecy, and undue influence in all its forms.
100% People-Funded Democracy
2. The Voice of The People.
We believe that every voice should carry equal weight—not just those with wealth or access. Campaigns and public service must be financed by the public, not corporate lobbies, PACs, or shadowy organizations.
Implementation Strategy:
• Ban all private, corporate, and PAC donations to political candidates or parties.
• Establish Public Campaign Financing for all federal elections, with equal access for all qualifying candidates.
• Provide free and equal media airtime for publicly funded campaigns.
• Prohibit former elected officials and high-ranking government personnel from lobbying for a minimum of 10 years after leaving office.
Ending Lobbying and Special Interests
To return democracy to the people, we must dismantle the entrenched system of influence peddling and backroom deals that has corrupted our political institutions.
Implementation Strategy:
• Eliminate registered lobbying as a legal profession at the federal level.
• Outlaw all special interest donations to political campaigns, parties, or causes.
• Require all meetings between elected officials and outside entities to be recorded and made publicly accessible within 48 hours.
• Enforce term limits for both House and Senate members to reduce careerism and deepen accountability.
3. Radical Transparency in Government
Government should never operate in the shadows. Every decision made in the name of the people must be visible to the people.
Implementation Strategy:
• Create a People’s Accountability Portal to provide real-time access to legislative records, government contracts, budgets, and executive actions.
• Institute regular independent audits of all government departments, with results made available to the public.
• Require a full ethics and transparency review for all federal appointments and leadership positions.
XV. Responsible Free Speech & Media
Free speech is the foundation of democracy. But in an age of disinformation, consolidated media ownership, and unregulated digital platforms, we must protect this right by ensuring it remains rooted in truth, accountability, and public trust. The People’s United Party supports an open, informed society—where voices are heard, facts matter, and the media serves the people, not profit.
1. Social Media & the Public Interest
Social platforms have become modern-day public squares—yet they operate with minimal accountability and few protections for democratic discourse. We must ensure that these platforms uphold freedom of expression without becoming engines of hate, manipulation, or misinformation.
Implementation Strategy:
• Classify large social media platforms as public utilities subject to federal oversight and civil rights law.
• Require independent content moderation boards that include experts in civil rights, journalism, and free speech.
• Mandate algorithmic transparency and give users the ability to opt out of engagement-driven content feeds.
• Enforce strong anti-harassment protections and hate speech moderation while preserving First Amendment safeguards.
2. Revitalizing Public Media
Publicly funded, non-commercial media must be expanded and strengthened to deliver reliable, fact-based journalism and diverse cultural content free from corporate pressure.
Implementation Strategy:
• Triple funding for NPR, PBS, and other independent public broadcasters.
• Create a National Journalism Trust Fund to support local, nonprofit, and investigative reporting.
• Provide grants for community-based media organizations—particularly those serving marginalized communities and rural areas.
3. Breaking Up Media Monopolies
A handful of corporations control the vast majority of U.S. news, entertainment, and information. To restore a diversity of voices, we must end media monopolization and return to a truly pluralistic press.
Implementation Strategy:
• Reinstate and expand the Fairness Doctrine and ownership limits on media conglomerates.
• Enforce anti-trust actions to break up large media and telecom monopolies.
• Require disclosure of corporate sponsorship and financial influence on all political coverage and commentary.
XVI. A New Partnership for Responsible Capitalism
The American economy should serve the people—not the other way around. Capitalism, when unchecked, leads to inequality, environmental degradation, and corporate tyranny. The People’s United Party envisions a new economic model—one where prosperity is shared, business is a force for good, and government serves as both a protector and a partner in shaping a sustainable, inclusive future.
1. Re-imagining Government’s Role in Business
The government must not merely regulate business—it must guide and support innovation, justice, and equity in the economy. We believe in a partnership that rewards ethical practices, protects workers and consumers, and prioritizes the long-term well-being of society.
Implementation Strategy:
• Enact a Public Benefit Standard for all federal business incentives, subsidies, and contracts, requiring fair labor practices, environmental responsibility, and community investment.
• Establish a Department of Economic Justice to monitor corporate compliance with labor, tax, environmental, and anti-discrimination laws.
• Expand federal investment in cooperatives, employee-owned businesses, and community-based enterprises.
Regulation That Protects & Empowers
Smart, enforceable regulation is key to leveling the playing field and ensuring that capitalism works for everyone—not just the wealthy.
Implementation Strategy:
• Reinforce and expand the regulatory powers of the SEC, FTC, and CFPB to protect consumers and prevent market abuse.
• Close tax loopholes for multinational corporations and offshore holdings.
• Ban predatory lending, deceptive advertising, and exploitative labor practices in all industries.
2. Incentivizing Ethical and Sustainable Growth
Government must use its power to reward innovation that benefits the public and penalize practices that harm people or the planet.
Implementation Strategy:
• Create a Federal Green Investment Bank to fund sustainable startups and clean manufacturing.
• Tie tax incentives to metrics such as living wages, carbon neutrality, and diversity in hiring.
• Penalize companies that exploit gig workers or outsource jobs to avoid labor and environmental protections.
Corporate Responsibility and Civic Duty
With great power must come great responsibility. Corporations that benefit from American society must give back to it, not undermine it.
Implementation Strategy:
• Require large corporations to disclose full environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data.
• Mandate worker representation on corporate boards for companies with over 500 employees.
• Enforce democratic shareholder rights and restrict CEO compensation relative to worker pay.
